The event brought together student leaders from across the district to explore what it means to create inclusive, equitable, and empowering school communities.
Throughout the day, students collaborated in workshops, shared experiences, and developed ideas to strengthen equity initiatives within their own schools. One of the most impactful moments came as participants heard from two of the Exonerated Five — @santanaraymond and NYC Council Member @dr.yusefsalaam — who shared their powerful stories of resilience, justice, and the importance of advocacy. Their message reminded students of the power of persistence, awareness, and using their voices to create change.
Events like this not only educate but empower — equipping our young leaders to return to their school communities ready to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
