Fine & Performing Arts

At the High School for Climate Justice, we offer two areas within the arts that students can earn their graduation arts credits and explore their creative side through electives—Band and Fine Arts.  

Our band program which does not require auditions has beginner courses available for students who have never played an instrument and advanced band for those who continue playing an instrument and are interested in performing outside of the building at NYC landmarks and in competitions. 

Our fine arts program also includes beginner and advanced courses, with students having the opportunity for an advanced ceramics course that utilizes our school’s kiln.​ Other arts electives or after-school clubs are also available each year within the arts depending on student interest such as theater, music production and hip-hop dance.
