Students recently had the incredible opportunity to tour the Javits Center and learn about its sustainability initiatives.

Spanning nearly seven acres, this green oasis in the middle of Manhattan is a testament to innovative urban design. Students were amazed to discover a thriving ecosystem that includes nesting seagulls, nine beehives, a climate-controlled greenhouse, and a flourishing apple orchard—all situated on the roof of the convention center.

The Javits Center’s commitment to sustainability serves as an inspiring model for what is possible in urban settings. By integrating green infrastructure and sustainable practices, the center not only enhances its environmental impact but also provides valuable educational opportunities for students and the community. This tour was a fantastic example of #learningoutside, allowing students to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications.

The Jaguar family is grateful to the Javits Center for this enriching experience and for showcasing the importance of sustainability in our urban landscape. Thank you, @javitscenter, for an unforgettable tour and for your dedication to creating a greener, more sustainable future!
