Thank you to Council Member Diana Ayala’s office and Manhattan Community Board 11 for their collaborative efforts in engaging our students and the broader community in the Participatory Budgeting (PB) process.

This initiative not only educated everyone about civic engagement but also provided a platform for youth to contribute their ideas and perspectives on how to allocate funds within their community. By empowering students to participate in brainstorming sessions, CM Ayala’s office and Manhattan Community Board 11 demonstrated a commitment to fostering a culture of civic responsibility and inclusivity.

Participatory Budgeting is a powerful tool for community development, allowing residents to have a direct say in how public funds are spent. By engaging in this process, we are not only teaching them about democracy but also ensuring that their voices are heard and valued.

These efforts align with our mission to educate and empower the next generation of leaders and active citizens. Thank you again to CM Ayala’s office and Manhattan Community Board 11 for this enriching experience. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of these initiatives in District 8 and beyond.
