We’re excited to announce the arrival of our winter plants! This season, we’re embracing the resilience of nature with two hearty plants that can withstand the chill of winter: pansies and cabbage.
These plants not only add a touch of green to our surroundings during the winter months, but they also serve as a testament to the resilience of nature. They remind us that even in the harshest conditions, life finds a way to thrive. This resilience is at the heart of our mission at Climate Justice NYC, as we strive to foster a sustainable and resilient community.
Pansies, with their vibrant colors and delicate petals, are a delightful sight amid winter. Despite their delicate appearance, these plants are remarkably hardy and can survive in low-digit temperatures.
Cabbage, on the other hand, is a cool-season vegetable that belongs to the cole crop family. It demands even moisture to produce good heads and grows best in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.5 to 6.8.
We invite you to join us in nurturing these winter warriors and appreciating their beauty and resilience. Stay tuned for more updates from our winter garden!
